One of the best Altra shoes, the Rivera 2 continues to provide a lightweight and snappy ride thanks to the Altra EGO™ midsole. For smooth transitions with every stride, it features Altra’s Innerflex grooves on the outsole to increase flexibility in the forefoot.
In our Altra Rivera 2 review, testers liked the enhanced ground feel underfoot thanks to the balanced cushion (or 0mm heel-to-toe drop) and flexibility. It’s a versatile running shoe that can be worn for both long runs and everyday training or speedwork.
Altra redesigned the Rivera to have a slimmed-down profile and a more breathable upper. The fit hugs your midfoot and heel but still leaves room for you to wiggle your toes thanks to Altra’s signature FootShaped toe box. The new mesh is lighter, more breathable and more flexible. It also features reflective stripes on the toe box and heel for added visibility. Plus, Altra re-engineered the heel collar padding for more comfort.
