Supportive but FIRM

I have a Narrow foot...really narrow. It is hard for me to find shoes and often times Narrows are not made in the shoes that feel best underfoot. This was one of those times. I have numerous ankle injuries so I purchased the Ariel 20s to get the additional stability and support. That they most certainly have. These shoes will provide stability and support but having had just about every Brooks shoe in my closet I was disappointed in these when it comes to cushioning. I have seen the cushioning get firmer and firmer in every release of ALL Brooks shoes and this one may look and feel cushy it just does not meet my needs. I am a professor that stands all day, I love to run on road and treadmills, but these shoes are not for long periods of time and can be heard from afar. And yes I do have different shoes for running, for walking, and for teaching. And these cannot be used for any of my purposes other than around the house of trips to the store now. I was hoping for better since I have had great Ariels in the past. They are ok for short time frames, and short distances.

I’ve been buying the Brooks Ariel shoes since 1999. My local store did not have my size, so the Manager suggested I check online. I purchased the shoes and they were delivered the next day without any shipping charges! I understand Brooks changed the shoe a bit, but I still live them.

Most comfortable shoe I’ve ever worn!!

This is by far the most comfortable shoe I ever worn. That it comes in Wide makes all the difference. I wear it everyday for walking and on all gym days. Currently I have a pulled tendon and this is the only shoe that gives me support and allows me to be mobile.
